Argentine petrochemical center gets EU attention

The head of the European Parliament’s environmental commission recently declared himself “impressed” by pollution at the Dock Sud petrochemical complex just south of Buenos Aires, and he pledged to raise the issue in the European Union. Karl-Heinz Florenz of Germany said he would highlight the problem at home because some of the companies using the complex, which includes refining and terminal facilities, are based in Europe.
