CEC to plan Mexican green-building system

Canada, Mexico and the United States have agreed to collaborate on the development of a green-building rating system for Mexico, a move experts consider particularly timely in light of this country’s plans to build millions of units of low-cost housing. At the annual meeting of the tri-national Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), held here on June 26 and 27, the three nations’ top environmental officials agreed to fashion an integrated system of certification, verification and follow-up.
